Water, sewer, and trash collection are provided by the Village of Broadwater. A reverse osmosis unit, required by law to be installed in homes and businesses on the Broadwater Public Water system, is also provided by the Village, and included on your monthly utility bill.

To apply for Village Utilities, please see the Village Clerk during posted hours at the Village Hall, 280 N Starr Street, or call the Village Clerk at 308-489-5671.

Please note there are some green dumpsters Please use these green dumpsters for yard waste only. Limbs larger than 4 inches in diameter shall not be placed in the yard waste container.

The Village tree limb disposal site that was located to the east of the Village Shop is closed until further notice.

Payments

Utility payments can be dropped off at the office of the Village Clerk, 251 N. Starr Street, Broadwater. There is an outside drop-box which payments by cash, check, or money order. Payments may also mailed to the Village of Broadwater

The clerk's hours are normally the first through 10th of every month, the 20th-23rd of each month. Hours: Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Also the last Wednesday and Thursday of each month 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Excluding holidays. The Village of Broadwater does not have any facilities to accept payments online nor to charge any credit or debit card.

Pets

Pets over 6 months old are required to be licensed within the Village of Broadwater. A copy of the dog's or cat's current rabies vaccination record issued by a licensed veterinarian is required for this license. The cost is $5 per animal, renewed annually in May.

Certain farm animals may be kept within the Village limits, with certain restrictions as to type and number. Please see the Broadwater Village Ordinances for further details.

Other utilities, including cellular phone service, internet service, telephone landline service, electricity, and gas are available in Broadwater from other State organizations and private companies. The Village of Broadwater makes no representations or guarantees about these companies, products, services or their availability to any person, home, business, or other organization. REMINDER: NOTIFY DIGGERS HOTLINE BEFORE YOU DIG - IT'S THE LAW

Whether you are digging a basement for a new structure, or merely planning a summer project which will require you to do some digging, you must, by Nebraska Law (Sections 76-2301 - 76-2330) which states that anyone who excavates or otherwise disturbs the surface of the ground, must first notify the State One-Call Notification Center.

This is a free service that allows you to place a request for the underground utilities in your excavation area to be located and marked. Notifying Digger's Hotline prior to your excavation protects you, the underground utility, and the public.

Village Permits

Permits are required to be obtained prior to start of any construction, alteration, and/or addition of any structure on any property within the Village limits.
Fees: Flatwork: $5.00
Residential Projects: $20.00 plus $5.00 per $1,000.00 cost of project.
Commercial Projects: $50.00 plus $5.00 per $1,000.00 cost of project.

Water or Sewer Application Permits Permits are required to be obtained prior to start of any alteration or connection to the Village water or sewer system; includes sprinkler system. No fee charged.

Park Shelter

Reservations can be made for the Park shelter, but not required but recommended if you want to guarantee use for a particular day. There is no charge for use of the shelter. There is a $10.00 electrical fee charged if electricity is requested.
